Member Administrative Fees:

At Compass we spend time getting to know and understand our patients so we are able to best help them.  Unfortunately, insurance companies often do not cover many of these services including but not limited to: visit times > 54 minutes, maintaining medical records, procedure and medication prior-authorization, completion of immunization records, third-party medical forms, insurance filings and applications, email/portal correspondences, processing medication refill requests among other services we regularly provide. In oder to cover these expenses, members of our practice agree to pay a Quarterly Administrative Fee. The QAF payments are due Jan 1st, April 1st, July 1st & Oct 1st, and they allow us to spend more time with each patient (seeing an average of 8-10 patients a day per provider) instead of providing 10-20 minute visits. The QAF payments also make it so our patients don't have to come to the office for a visit every-time the have a question or need a routine medication refill.

*Please see the CFH New Patient Packet for Member Administrative Fee details.

To Make a Payment:

To make a payment on your account balance please call the office with your card information, mail a check or log into the Compass AthenaHealth portal (see portal tab) and enter your card information on the secure site.

For unpaid balances, you may receive emails or text from Rivia Health, who offers additional easy to access secure ways to pay your bills via RexPay. Their platform links with our AthenaHealth system and will show you your insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) for any claim creating a balance with patient responsibility.

Insurance Options:

Compass Family Health currently participates with and directly bills: Anthem BCBS Federal / NH / ME & NE, Aetna, Cigna, Tufts, MCHO, Harvard Pilgrim, United, and Medicare.

Co-pays:   All co-pays and coinsurance are due at time of service,  so please come prepared with cash, check or credit card.

Please consider calling your insurance to make sure we participate with your plan as each insurance company has MANY plans. Also check your benefits so you understand you copays, deductible and what may not be covered until your deductible is met.

Self Pay Options:

For those who are uninsured or we do not accept their insurance, we do offer a self pay discount on our fees, and we do take HSA/FSA cards.

If we do not participate with your plan, we can offer a receipt of payment you can submit for reimbursement if your policy allows out of network benefits. Your insurance company can tell you if you would qualify for this. Because we are out of network, we will not direct-bill those insurances and your payment to us will be due at time of service.

We are also willing to discuss payment plans for larger balances if need, but this type of accommodation should be set up prior to appointments. Please call in advance for details and discussion.

We are small privately owned practice, focused on spending quality time with our patients. Because of this, we function at a low profit margin and therefore greatly appreciate your timely payments.
